Saw a post from one of Australia's greatest cue sports players just now...about another great player...Denis Paul (Digby) who made it to the final of the Oceania Snooker. Quote below from Shawn Budd.

"Congratulations to Adrian Ridley, one of the greatest players Australian Snooker has produced in the past 20 years.

I just wanted to make mention of the runner up Dennis Paul (aka Digby), Dennis came to Australia (Coogee) at a very young age and not many would know that he was like a big brother to me growing up.

My Mum still calls him her other son.

We use to play sessions and make no mistake I was the ball boy. 140, 130's were standard and even just a couple of years ago a 147.

For 30 years he was the most feared pool player in Sydney.

Just a couple of years ago my biggest rival and one of Australia's greatest ever - Steve Mifsud fell victim to the Dig best of 5, when Steve made 2 centuries just to get beat.

This is just a tribute to a wonderful player. my big brother and a person who has always loved the game.

Digby, I know you are not on Facebook but you are a true legend of our sport.

I still walk into venues (whats left) in Sydney and they say Digby the best they have ever seen.

Sometimes the best stories are never told."

Oceania Snooker & Billiard Championships 2018

Not many would have picked the final match up for the Oceania Snooker Championship. Denis Paul (Digby) a player that has been around for years on both pool and snooker scene has stormed into the final after defeating Tyson Crinis 5-0. Reports have indicated that 'Digby' has been super hot on the practice table and has now proved this by making it into his first ever Oceania Snooker final. He will now take on Adrian Ridley who also had a confident 5-0 win over Joe Minici who only a week ago won the Oceania Billiards Championship at Mounties. Final is scheduled for 3pm and will be best of 11 frames. Good luck to both players. ... See MoreSee Less
