Thank you to all who have responded
To arrange the coming Billiards season, the MC would like to see many more responses to the survey, Billiards and Snooker players alike.
We will make contact with all the delegates and if required, call a delegates meeting ASAP.
To all current and potential billiard players.
With the snooker season coming up to the finals, the QBSA committee is interested in finding out what you the members would like.
We believe that the game of billiards is well worth learning and playing as it develops your snooker skills enormously. It is worth noting that the current Queensland Open Snooker Champion has just won the Australian Billiards Championships, it is no coincidence.
We would like to see a return to the traditional season of 3 grades with 4 players per team each playing for 75 minutes, perhaps retaining the C Grade 3×25 minute sessions.
A grade would be for those who know how to play the game well or wanting to progress from apst B Grade standards. Barrier point 250
B grade would be for experienced snooker players who haven’t played billiards before and B & C grade players who would have some knowledge of cannons and in-offs. Barrier point 210
C grade would be for newbies to the game, a place to learn the art of cannons and in-offs and the beauty of the ‘half ball’ contact. Barrier point for over 180.
In recent years, a number of players have missed out on being part of a team because no one at their club either contacted them or knew they were interested in Billiards or one team member has chosen another recreation and the team is short of players. Club loyalty is also important to our team sports however, as we saw last year, it sometimes requires players to be a bit nomadic and form composite teams with other clubs in order to get competition table time.
So we can gauge what actual interest there is, we are asking members to fill out the following so that we can help the clubs to form teams, and so avoid anyone who is interested from missing out on a game.
Please fill in the form below, it is important to your Management Committee
Please respond with this information by the 11th July.
